oringinal photo of something beautiful.

this is a lamp at my friend's house, it is beautiful because of it's milky white apearance. The light emanating from the lamp give the lamp a warm feel to it. The shape is also very interesting as it represents a mushroom which give it an organic feel. The background is dark blue , and it made a blatant contrast with the miky white appearance of the lamp, which is very effective . The light from the lamp shines on the blue wall. I think the juxtaposition of the blue and the white is very special.

The above picture is only a simple replica of my original work in year seven called ''floating geometric city on a dirigible''. unfortunately the original is lost. I like this picture because every part of this picture is geometric and it gives you a ''metropolis feel''. the picture conveys a sense of hope, by carrying this futuristic city high in the sky, we humans can survive and flourish without disturbing the environment on the ground and nature can once again take over. This picture also symbolized the endless progress of human technology and people's desire to live in harmony with mother nature. The geometric shapes of city give us a sense of ''future'' .While the dirigible represent the enviromentally friendly machine that can carry human civilization safely into the future. the colourful apperance of the city gives a sense of life and happyiness.

empire state building

2 The empire state building

empire state building inspired me to become an architect. Because in my personal opinion , it is on of the most beautiful and majestic buildings in the world. it is also one of the earliest mordern skyscrapers in the world. I think it is a great achievement(for it's time at least) because a building of it's height(102 levels) was a relatively new thing for the late 1920s and early 1930s. and unlike most of today's high-rise buildings, the Empire State Building has a classic façade. The lobby alone is three stories high . In the early 1960s, floodlights were added to decorate the top of building at night. it is an icon of New York city.

3 Versailles Palace

to me this is one of the most beautiful creation of mankind. the Court of Versailles was the centre of power inAncien Regiem France. Versailles is famous not only as a work of art, but as a symbol of the system of french imperial power which Louis XIV espoused. many rooms are decorated with an touch of Italian flavour. and many rooms are named after Roman gods. for examples there are salon de mars, salon de mercue and salon de Diane. one of the most famose part of the palace is the hall of mirrors which not only looked magnificent docorated with huge windows , but also of great historical significance( the Versalliestreaty that ended world war one was signed here).
